The Organisation | Sport Inclusion Australia

Sport Inclusion Australia (SIA) is a National Sporting Organisation established in 1986 to assist the inclusion of people with an impairment, primarily an intellectual impairment into the mainstream community using sport as the medium.  

SIA facilitates, educates and supports sporting organisations and the wider community about the power of sport to deliver social inclusion, while advocating for the rights of all Australians to be treated with dignity. 

It is a Virtus member organisation is proud to have managed and delivered the Virtus Oceania Asia Games 2022 (OA Games 2022) in Brisbane, Australia.

The Oceania Asia Games 2022 Organising Committee (OAGOC) was established to deliver a successful event and excellent sporting competition that is truly diverse and inclusive in its sporting competition. 

Governance | Virtus

Virtus is the global organisation that governs, advocates, organises and promotes elite sports for athletes with an intellectual impairment and is a founding member of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). 

Formed in 1986, Virtus (formerly INAS) has grown from 14 members to a membership of more 500,000 athletes from more than 90 nations across the world throughout Europe, Africa, Asia, North and South/Central America and Oceania.

The Virtus mission is to drive the development of elite sports worldwide for athletes with intellectual impairment.
